Federal Art and Culture Reports
The first Federal Art Report was submitted to the Austrian parliament for the reporting period 1970/71. Since then, the Federal Art Report has been submitted annually and has steadily grown in scope and detail. In 1988, § 10 of the Federal Arts Grants Act stipulated that "the Federal authorities shall submit an annual report about activities in support of the art to the Parliament". The Federal Art Report is mainly a summary of all measures in support of the arts and concomitant expenditures for the reporting period. The figures are prepared by the departments involved in co-operation with the former Department 4 (Statistics), and Department 5 (Literature and publishing) is entrusted with the editing.
Since 2016 the Art Report is part of the Federal Art and Culture Reports.
The cultural chapter in this report gives an overview of the current developments in national museums, in national theatres, in monument protection, and in other important Austrian cultural institutions.
