Information about job opportunities in the civil service

Within the framework of the Austrian youth strategy, the Federal Ministry of the Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport is realising the following youth goal:

Youth goal

We offer information about careers perspectives and job opportunities in the civil service.

The Federal Ministry of the Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport provides information about the civil service, its organisation, functions and opportunities for professional development. The civil service is also an attractive employer for young people. Our task is to convey this information in a way which is attractive for young people. The goal has been reached when young people can easily find the information which is relevant for them, when it is easy for them to understand, and when it leads to them developing an interest in the civil service.

Measures for the realisation of the youth goal

Establishment of a separate landing page for young people on the issue of apprenticeships and traineeships in the civil service.

The website with the title Careers in the Civil Service of the Republic of Austria (jobboerse.gv.at) will be revised and relaunched so that it has an even greater focus on the relevant information for young people. As part of this work, a separate landing page on the topic of apprenticeships and traineeships in the civil service will be created, which will provide general information about apprenticeships and traineeships and the range of occupations available in the civil service as well as selected apprenticeships and traineeships and related testimonials. The landing page is intended to provide a simple and low-threshold point of access to key information and – in connection with social media activities – is directed towards the actual lives of young people. In addition, via a direct link to currently offered traineeships and apprenticeships, the visibility of the range of these opportunities in the civil service is to be increased in a targeted way.

A reality check has been carried out. The youth goal contributes towards the following European youth goals:
